McCallum Physiotherapy Clinic

About us

Physiotherapy means different things to different people. To us, it is time well spent through thorough assessments, quality treatment techniques, and an on-going plan for successful health.  Let us be involved in making your recovery as effective as possible.

As a supporter of the Aspire Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Institute we continue to instruct physiotherapists world wide to refine and improve their own skills to further serve their communities. In the field of health, there is a constant refinement of what we know about the body and how to best manage and prevent pain and injuries. As we find out more, the definition of good also needs to be re-defined.

Here at McCallum Physiotherapy, we are constantly refining and improving how we look at the body and how we can positively impact it. We are leaders in quality care with a personal approach.

Common Conditions Our Physiotherapists Treat

Concussion Management

Concussions invariably cause upper cervical joint dysfunction which is a major cause of the post concussion syndrome. Without proper care and treatment to the upper neck joints, symptoms can persist indefinitely. This condition has been called trigeminal symptoms of cervical origin.

Complex Chronic Pain

Proper diagnosis from a biomechanical model is imperative in the treatment of chronic pain. We have extensive experience in this field as we are leaders in advanced biomechanics. Patients just want answers as to why they are in pain, let us help you find the answers you are looking for.

The Young Athlete

Instability of the pelvis, hip and lumbar spine is common in the teenage athlete. With our whole body approach we will be able to help diagnose and treat young athletes both safe and effective and get them back to their sport as soon as possible.

Frozen Shoulder

Frozen shoulder is a common condition which can occur after traumatic injuries to the shoulder, related to chronic neck and upper back dysfunction, or as a result of an underlying systemic condition. Getting properly assessed and ruling out the most likely cause in each individual case is imperative to your health and well-being.

Post Surgical Rehabilitation

April Arsene has over 29 years experience at McCallum working closely with post operative patients. She will work with her clients and prescribe a very thorough exercise program that will get you back to your activities of daily living at your maximum potential; that is her passion and she's very good at it.

TMJ Dysfunction

The jaw can be injured from direct trauma, dental procedures, and can become unstable due to a chronic head forward posture. Proper diagnosis is the key to treating TMJ pain and dysfunction. Erl Pettman has trained Brent Hartman to take over his TMJ referrals from many oral facial surgeons in Vancouver.

Repetitive Use Injuries

Overuse injuries can occur from improperly treated prior injuries, a bad posture, or an underlying spinal condition. Using a biomechanical model, we can test the entire body's ability to function and find out the cause as to why your overuse injury occurred and how we can help you fix it.

Thoracic Outlet Syndrome

A common diagnosed condition after falls and motor vehicle accidents when radiating arm symptoms are present. Common causes of a thoracic outlet syndrome diagnosis is a result of neck and upper back dysfunction effective the nerves as they pass through the shoulder girdle. A lot of these painful conditions can be treated, we will complete a full biomechanical assessment of your condition so we can help guide you through your recovery.
