I have been practicing in Abbotsford for over 14 years and joined McCallum Physiotherapy in 2013. Born and raised in Maple Ridge, I graduated from the University of Alberta with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy in 2006 and a Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2003 from UFV. I have completed all course work from the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and am just working on completing my exams to become an Certified Orthopaedic Manipulative Therapist.
Having a mentor in Erl Pettman has been invaluable to my development as a physiotherapist and I look forward to continuing to treat the residents of the Abbotsford area and mentoring future physiotherapists for many years to come.
I have a passion for what I do and I strive to be the best that I can. I will always try my best to give people the answers to their complex problems so they can start the process of getting better and becoming independent.
MSc.P.T. B.Kin. Certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada
I graduated with my Masters of Science in Physical Therapy from the University of Alberta, after completing a Bachelors of Kinesiology at the University of Calgary.
I provide manual therapy, dry-needling, and am certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada. I believe that every injury and every individual is unique. I take a whole body approach and support my clients by finding and addressing the root of their concerns, not just the symptoms.
I am fortunate to have been mentored by Erl Pettman, who has been paving the way for Orthopaedic Manual and Manipulative Therapy for decades. Erl Pettman is the co-founder of the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (NAIOMT) and has taught me the course work directly.
I look forward to spending the rest of my career in Abbotsford supporting this wonderful community.
I have a loving wife and three energetic unique beautiful children. I love spending time in nature with my family and staying active in the gym, on the golf course or at the hockey rink.
MCSP; FCAMT; Orthopaedic Manipulative Physiotherapist
I founded McCallum Physiotherapy in 1978, the North American Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy and in 2020 Aspire an Orthopaedic Manual Therapy Institute. I have had the great pleasure in training and mentoring thousands of therapists in my career and Brent and Nasan are no different. I have had a personal hand in their post-professional education, and I have the utmost confidence in their ability to continue my legacy. It has been a pleasure to have been a part of your physical healthcare.
B.PT., BSc., Certified by the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada
I am a graduate of the University of Alberta (Edmonton), receiving both my BSc and BPt there. Since graduation I have earned several care specialties. My earliest specialties were in acute cardio-respiratory care and acute post-operative surgical care… where I practiced these in the ICU and acute surgical departments in both Edmonton and Abbotsford hospitals.
Since leaving the public system and entering the private sector at McCallum Physiotherapy in 1991, I have continued with acute post-operative patient care and acquired manual therapy skills during my 30 years with Erl Pettman. I have also pursued my love for sports medicine, where I devoted 35 years as a committed volunteer in the Abbotsford community as both an organizer, and active physiotherapist for medical services from the international to local level of sporting events. I have been inducted into the Abbotsford Sports Hall of Fame in the Sport Builder category.
Currently, I continue to pursue my love for acute post-operative patient care and manual therapy. Along with my clinical specialty in joint replacement treatment, I complement all of these with my 20 year certification in acupuncture. I always provide individually designed exercise programs for my patients, and the full gym facilities at McCallum Physiotherapy make this easily possible.
Kinesiologist, Independent Contractor
I have contracted my services to McCallum Physiotherapy as of December 2020. Abbotsford has been my home since my early childhood. I graduated from the UFV in 2013 with a Bachelors of Kinesiology. Upon graduation I gained experience and knowledge working in Chilliwack at a private fitness studio handling not only active rehabilitation but also personal training. I have vast experience with exercise prescription and biomechanical correction. Working along side Brent, Nasan and April will be invaluable to my career as a kinesiologist as I plan on growing my career at McCallum Physiotherapy.
As a kinesiologist I use exercise as a modality of treatment to improve a patient’s overall health and injuries. I offer 1-on-1 exercise services for those injured in ICBC accidents, private 1-on-1 sessions for clients looking to improve their health and wellness, as well as group sessions with individualized exercise programs at a discounted monthly rate.
We are proud to work for McCallum Physiotherapy. We are a family and our clients are no different. You will be treated as if you are a part of ours.
